THE GUT HEALTH EXPERTS

At Vetagro, being the gut health expert isn’t just about innovation—it’s about transforming knowledge into action. From enhancing digestive efficiency to promoting overall animal well-being, our work is designed to create healthier animals and more sustainable agricultural systems.

SCIENCE IS THE FOUNDATION OF EVERYTHING WE DO

Since the beginning, Vetagro research has been rooted in science. Our laboratory journey began with rumen bypass mechanisms, for which we mastered microencapsulation technologies. This enabled us to deliver nutrients precisely where they are needed, first in ruminants and later expanding to monogastric species.

The biological laboratories focus on understanding the specific roles of bioactive compounds in improving intestinal health. We employ state-of-the-art technologies to investigate in depth how these compounds work:

• Microbiological tests to determine the antimicrobial action and the modulation of bacterial virulence.

• Microbiological tests to determine the antimicrobial action and the modulation of bacterial virulence.

• Microbiological tests to determine the antimicrobial action and the modulation of bacterial virulence.

• 2D and 3D Cell culture models to evaluate intestinal integrity under oxidative, inflammatory or bacterial challenges.

• Design of multifactorial studies to understand molecular mechanisms by complex models closer to the animal gastro-intestinal systems.

The technological laboratories are dedicated to the development and optimization of nutrients and active compounds delivery using Vetagro microencapsulation technologies. Here, we create the link between theoretical knowledge and our final solutions like no one else:

Formulation engineering and industrial scale-up to design the final product and process.

In vitro bioavailability studies to certificate/validate the slow-release action of our solutions

Set up of analytical methods to detect bioactive ingredients and the stability of our products in all types of feed production.

WHAT MAKES US THE GUT EXPERTS?

Vetagro is more than a research leader; we are pioneers in gut health, shaping the future of animal nutrition with science, innovation, and a global perspective. Expertise alone is never enough—we believe in transforming knowledge into real-world solutions. Indeed, we actively collaborate with prestigious universities, independent research centers, and private laboratories worldwide. By bridging academic research with industry needs, we ensure our innovations are not only scientifically advanced but also practical, effective, and impactful. This is how we make sure that high-quality, cutting-edge studies and market clients needs are microencapsulated inside our products. As innovators in this field, we were the first to introduce the discussion of gut health in the scientific world of animal nutrition.
